It's Friday and it's that day, when I go to kitchen, cook something and share its recipe with all my amazing people. Today, I bring you a very desi and South Asian recipe. In today's post, I am sharing recipe of Evening Lentils Snacks or commonly known as Chanay ki daal (Split Bengal Gram) friters.

It's usually made during the month of Ramdan at Iftari, but it can also be served with tea in the evening. I really love this snack and often make it for my family. Now that I am sharing this recipe with you, it's now officially necessary for you to try this and treat your taste buds.

Ingredients

2 bowls split bengal gram, 1 and 1/2 finely chopped onion, 2 tbsp grounded red chilies, pinch of black pepper, 1/2 tsp white grounded coriander, finely chopped parsley, 2 finely chopped green chilies, salt to taste, oil for frying

Easy Recipe

Method

  • First of all you have to soak lentils in water for at least 12 to 14 hours to soften it. This is the only step that makes this snack time consuming, otherwise, it's a very simple recipe.

  • Then, grind lentils in a blender by adding a small amount of water in it. Do not add equal amount of water, just add an amount that enables blender's blade to move.

  • Add all the ingredients in the blended lentils and mix well. The mixture should be thick in consistency. It will look something like this.
Easy Recipe

  • Heat oil in a pan and drop spoonful of mixture in the pan for frying and fry until golden brown. When you fry these, you have to ensure that they are thoroughly cooked from inside. Also, be very careful while putting the mixture in the pan for frying.
