Tuesday Tip: How I Remove Blackheads

Removing Blackheads

A clean, clear, glowing and tip-top skin is something we all dream of. But, those pesky blackheads and whiteheads that pop up seem to shatter all our desires to flaunt a smooth and flawless face. Though I try my best to keep my skin neat and clean and never sleep with makeup on; still, I get blackheads on my face, especially on my nose and chin area.

I don’t go to the salon for facial or skin cleansing (checkout my monthly salon rituals here), so I have to do my facial cleansing on my own, but this facial is not enough to keep blackheads and whiteheads at bay. Therefore, I have to rely on different tips and tricks to remove these black spots.
Here are some of the ways that I use to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads from my skin.

Blackheads Nose Strips

It is the easiest way to remove blackheads and whiteheads as you don’t have to make much efforts. All you have to do is buy the strips, apply it on your nose and voila!

Also, this is a very pocket-friendly method. As compared to those expensive facials, these nose strips may only cost around 150 rupees. I get my nose strips from Naheed Supermarket every month.

I have heard people saying that using nose strips is not an effective way to remove blackheads or using these strips may wreck havoc on your skin, but honestly, I didn’t experience anything like that. I have been using nose strips from so many years and I have never experience any sort of side effects.

Baking Soda

Another tip that I often use to remove blackheads is applying baking soda paste on my nose. To make this paste, take a teaspoon of baking soda and mix it with rose water to form a paste. You can also use plain tap water if you don’t have rose water available. Apply it on your nose and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse with water.

This is also a quick, effective and total money-saving way to remove blackheads, but it many cause itching to some. I did a complete review of using baking soda to remove pores and blackheads some time back that you can check out here.

Using Frozen Tomatoes

Another tip that I know can help you in removing blackheads is rubbing frozen tomato cubes on your nose. I used to do this regularly, when I was in college. But now, I find following this tip quite tough (please consider my laziness).

To use tomato to remove blackheads, you need to cut a tomato in cubes and place it in your freezer overnight. Once it’s frozen, take tomato cubes and rub it over your nose. It is extremely difficult to do, when it’s cold or when you are suffering from flu. Plus, it takes a lot of time for a frozen cube to melt down, but there is no doubt that this is the most effective tip to remove blackheads. Also, it renders other benefits as well such as it minimizes pores and brightens up your skin.

Removing Blackheads

These are three tips that I use to remove blackheads and whiteheads. I hope you will find this post helpful. Also, if you guys know any other tips, do share with me.

  1. Some great tips! I mostly use the stripes but they don’t completely work for me. Have also tried baking soda. Nowadays, I’m using the charcoal mask, it does work but doesn’t remove 100% of the blackheads just like the other options.
